Working with Jason and his team was an absolute pleasure. He is excellent at what he does, and also honest, hardworking and just a really nice person. I had to wait awhile until I could get on the schedule but it was definitely worth the wait. The work was top notch and I love the finished project. I contacted several contractors to request quotes for our project. Jason Palat was definitely the quickest to respond, and he offered the best price. He continued to provide excellent responsiveness leading up to and throughout the job. When I sent messages, he typically responded very quickly, usually within an hour. Once work began, it quickly became apparent that Jason and his crew are experienced and work very well together. They quickly had the remnants of the old retaining wall removed and carefully excavated in preparation for the new wall. Jason gladly answered all of our questions (and we had many) about the entire planning process. When we changed our plan and decided to replace our old steps as well, Jason and team quickly responded and made arrangements as needed for additional materials with no interruption or delays to the project. Maybe the most notable observation was the care and precision that Jason and his team put into their work, constantly checking and re-checking to make sure that everything was in alignment, level, and square. These guys are skilled craftsmen. When the job was finished, the whole area was thoroughly cleaned. The many minor details that we had discussed along the way were all addressed. And the adjustments to the price that resulted from plan changes and extra requests that we made along the way were handled fairly and clearly. Overall, it was a very professional job. And we’re extremely pleased with the results.

We would highly recommend Jason Palat Landscaping. When Jason came out for an estimate, we showed him the cracked concrete, sagging brick walls around the patio and explained the drainage issues. The original plan was to keep the existing concrete slab underneath a roof overhang and remove everything else (sagging brick walls and cracked concrete). The new patio would be longer, but not as wide due to roots of a large tree (probably to source of the cracked concrete). Jason even came back with his laser level to make sure the pavers would meet the remaining slab without creating a step, while still maintaining the correct slope for drainage. There were a couple of unforeseen complications during the project (surprise!) and Jason recommended fixes for them while keeping our budget in mind. First were the large gaping holes under the concrete slab we had intended to retain; it almost looked as if the slab was cantilevered from the house without any support under it. Jason recommended removing and replacing with pavers and modified the overall design slightly to keep the additional cost down. Also the pipe underground from the downspout was clogged with tree roots. He ran a new pipe with a pop-up drain and charged us his cost. Everything else went smoothly. The final step was replanting grass which is coming in nicely. Jason even left additional seed and straw for an area we were still trying to decide: plants or grass. As far as communication, Jason is very quick to answer emails and calls. He and his crew are very professional and do great work. Again we would highly recommend Palat Landscaping.

Jason has a very strong reliable team of workers that aggressively replaced my retaining wall, well ahead of the timing in which competitors could have done so. He removed the old wall surrounding my driveway and installed the new wall in less than 2 weeks. The quality of the work was high and was performed in accordance of the Versa-Lok recommended method. The team was professional and maintained the area clean at the end of the day and the end of the job. Jason was very cooperative during the process and worked hard to meet our needs. I was extremely please with Jason Palat's work. You could tell that he was very thoughtful about my retaining wall replacement, and when he first saw the scope of the project he was careful to discuss various alternatives and potential complications that I hadn't even considered. He sent me an estimate very quickly and answered my questions in a thorough and timely fashion. The price was very competitive and ultimately a bargain, I think, considering the quality of his work. Communication throughout the preparatory phase and construction phase was excellent. He was always on site supervising throughout the entire project. He and his crew were careful to cause as little disruption to my property as possible, which was tricky since they had a fairly small "footprint" in which to operate. Cleanup after the job was completed was impeccable. I would highly recommend Palat Landscaping for your next hardscaping project.

During concrete removal, a section of the foundation of our porch was accidentally removed. Work was stopped to call in a structural engineer, who determined that there was not any structural damage. Palat filled in the missing concrete at no cost. The remainder of the job went smoothly. Palat was very professional and courteous.

Both efforts went extremely well. We now have a beautiful wall next to our driveway (strangers walking by have stopped to compliment us on the work). And the loose stone wall in the backyard, covering up the old clunky wall, adds so much to our yard. We love it! The owner, Jason, was on-site, working and overseeing the projects every day, answering any questions we had. We also had a second requirement. We were also having our front steps, walk, and porch replaced by J&J Concrete (who also did excellent work). Because the driveway retaining wall needed to meet both the replacement porch and stairs, a lot of coordination was required. Jason needed to start the wall, then wait for the porch and stairs to be finished before he could bring the wall around to connect to the stairs for a professional clean look. This required him to come back after the stairs were completed. Jason was back the very next day to finish up the wall. (J&J Concrete also arrived without any delays, so this complex project which could have spread over who knows how long, was completed in about a week and a half without any down days!) And everyone cleaned up, back filled, seeded, etc after themselves. Lastly, let me say that the people Jason had working for him were all friendly and professional. I would hire Palat Landscaping again in a heartbeat. And the same goes for J&J Concrete. I know that this is a review for Palat Landscaping, but because of the coordination effort needed between Palat Landscaping and J&J Concrete, I can't review one without mentioning the other. It was a team effort. The price quoted below was just for Palat Landscaping.

Jason and his crew are too awesome for words. I've been a customer of his for 7+ years and his work has been consistent and consistently exceptional. Jason and his crew work from the minute they arrive until they leave and leave the property looking better than when they arrived. They treat your property as if it were their own and are pleasant, accommodating and eager to please. Jason discusses every aspect of the job in advance and always finds a solution to a difficult or unexpected situation. He's cognizant of costs and endeavors to work within your budget and even save you money if he can. My current job is not yet finished but I didn't want to wait for the final reveal. Jason and his crew are top notch! If you're considering a job please have him out for an estimate. You won't be disappointed!
